Big vs. Small: Deciding Your Wedding Size

Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme – who are we inviting to our wedding? The good news is that the Rococo Theatre can accommodate a guest list of 50 or a guest list of 500. If you’re having a hard time decided to go with an intimately-sized wedding or one of grandeur, here are some tips to think about.

Consider Your Budget

While the Rococo Theatre has a flat rental fee that doesn’t fluctuate by number of guests, consider the number of plates you are supplying for dinner, the number of favors to make or buy, and the number of table settings to place for your reception. You will want to avoid sacrificing quality for quantity, especially in the food department.

Quality Time

With a smaller guest list, you will find that it is much easier to spend time with and thank everyone in attendance. This is one of the major reasons some couples opt for fewer guests. Being able to easily have a conversation with each of your guests will alleviate some of the stress that goes along with hosting a wedding.

Small Gatherings Feel More Intimate

If you prefer a cozy vibe, a small wedding could be the right fit for you! You may be a couple that enjoys hosting small gatherings with family and friends. Why not let that energy carry over into one of the most important gatherings of your lives? You may also be a couple that doesn’t particularly enjoy socializing. In this case, the smaller, the better!

Share the Love

The number one way to share your special day with the most people is to invite the most people! Instead of seeing photos weeks or months later on the ‘gram, invite all of the people with which you want to share your happiness. If this is your outlook, then the age-old saying of “the more, the merrier” definitely applies to your wedding day.

Big Family

Having a big family is a huge contributor to guest list inflation. Your wedding day is the perfect excuse for a family reunion. If you have relatives you haven’t seen in years, inviting them to celebrate your big day is a great way to reconnect. Leaving a few family members off the guest list can sometimes result in more strife for you, so if you feel so inclined, include everyone. But always remember that it is YOUR wedding day, and there are no rules about who must be in attendance.

Presents!

The more guests you invite, the more gifts you receive – it’s basic math! Need I say more?

Booking the Rococo

Book a tour at the Rococo Theatre and see if we are right for you. For dinner service, we can accommodate upwards of 500 guests. On the other hand, the venue will not feel bare with a smaller guest list. The first floor can be a homey fit for your intimate wedding, creating a spacious feeling but not an empty one.
